The Cervelo Aspero GRX RX825 Di2 Bike is a race-first gravel platform built for riders who line up to compete — not ride loaded to a campsite. When Cervelo introduced the Áspero in 2019, the gravel category was filling up with bikes designed to carry gear, tackle mixed terrain at a measured pace, and prioritize comfort over speed. Cervelo went the other direction. Their brief: make a gravel bike that applies the same aerodynamic and handling rigor they'd put into road racing machines. That philosophy hasn't changed in the updated generation — it's been refined.

The current Áspero is more aerodynamic than its predecessor, with Cervelo citing approximately three watts of drag reduction in a headwind. That's a modest number in isolation, but the way Cervelo frames it says something about how the bike is designed: three watts over six hours is roughly one fewer energy gel your body has to process. This isn't a sprint bike — it's a machine optimized for sustained effort over long competitive gravel events. The frame's dropped seat stays, a visible change from the previous generation, increase rear compliance without sacrificing the front-end stiffness that gives the Áspero its responsive character. Cervelo also reduced front-end stiffness marginally — a deliberate tuning decision drawn from racing experience. The lessons from R5-CX at Unbound 2023 went directly into the Áspero's design: less accumulated fatigue in hour five or six. The dropped stay design also opens up more mud clearance out back, a practical gain on the kind of sodden early-season gravel that punishes bikes not designed for it.

Structurally, the Áspero uses Cervelo's T47a asymmetric threaded bottom bracket shell — their adaptation of the T47 standard that delivers the wider stance of BBRight in a rider-serviceable threaded interface. The rear end uses SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), keeping the frame compatible with SRAM Transmission drivetrains now and future UDH-compatible systems as the market evolves. The frame shares its bearing dimensions with Cervelo's R5, Soloist, and Caledonia models, so cockpit components are interchangeable across those platforms. The 425mm chainstay runs consistent across all six sizes — 48 through 61cm — a short number for a gravel bike that prioritizes handling agility. Trail is 62mm across every size, producing consistent steering character regardless of frame size.

Shimano GRX RX825 Di2 with 4iiii Power Meter

This build ships with Shimano's GRX RX825 Di2 — their top-tier wireless electronic gravel groupset. The RX825 levers communicate wirelessly to the RX827 Di2 rear derailleur, eliminating the shift cables that route through a gravel frame's more vulnerable external sections. Braking comes from Shimano GRX RX820 hydraulic disc calipers with Shimano CL800 Centerlock rotors. The crankset is a Shimano GRX RX820 with a 4iiii Precision GEN3+ single-sided power meter integrated directly into the crankarm — a factory-installed unit, not an aftermarket add-on. The chainring is a Wolf Tooth 44t unit, paired to a Shimano XT M8100 12-speed 10-51t cassette. The 51t low gear handles steep loose climbs; the 44t single front ring keeps the drivetrain clean. The bottom bracket is an FSA T47 BBRight.

Reserve 40/44TA GR Carbon Wheelset

The wheel spec is Reserve's 40TA GR front and 44TA GR rear — carbon gravel wheels with asymmetric rim depth. Reserve is DT Swiss' performance wheel brand, and these run DT Swiss 370 hubs front and rear with thru-axle compatibility (12x100mm front, 12x142mm rear). The asymmetric depth is deliberate: a deeper rear wheel for aero gain where crosswind management is less critical, a shallower front for predictable steering in variable conditions. Both wheels are tubeless-compatible. Factory tires are WTB Vulpine TCS Light Fast Rolling Dual DNA SG at 700x45 — a fast gravel-race tire with a file tread pattern that rolls efficiently on packed surfaces without sacrificing grip in loose conditions.

Cockpit and Accessories

The handlebar is Cervelo's AB09 carbon, with a 31.8mm clamp and 16 degrees of flare — enough spread for confident control on rough descents, close enough to a road bar profile for sustained hood riding on paved sections. The stem is the Cervelo ST36 alloy. The seatpost is the Cervelo SP19 carbon in 27.2mm diameter. The bike ships with Cervelo's front computer and accessory mount, a rear accessory mount, and the Cervelo Smartpak top tube storage bag — compact integrated storage for flat kit. The saddle is the Prologo Nago R4 PAS Steel in 143mm width. Pedals are not included.

Available in Black/Charcoal and Marigold across sizes 48 through 61cm, the Áspero GRX RX825 Di2 packages a factory power meter, carbon wheels, and wireless electronic shifting at $7,050. For a rider who would otherwise buy a complete bike and then upgrade the drivetrain and wheelset later, this spec takes those decisions off the table. The Áspero isn't for the rider who wants cargo capacity — it's for the rider who wants to be first.

Best toy for our dogs!
Color: Yellow Frisbee, Size: Large
These are great for our labs. They love to fetch and play in the back yard. Loved how sturdy these have been the last few days. The material is tough enough to withstand our boys.

Bouncy, not hard, and good value.
Style: Fetch Balls (Pack of 10), Size: 2.5 inch
Great balls for the ball launcher and not rockhard like some of the solid rubber balls. These have great bounce, and because of the two holes, they make a fun whistling noise as they fly through the air. My dogs love them and they are a good value. By the way, if you throw them too hard, they will go through chain-link and no climb fence because they squish a bit!

Excellent dog balls — safe design and very durable
Style: Fetch Balls (Pack of 3), Size: 2.5 inch
These fetch balls from Amazon Basics are fantastic, and my dog absolutely loves them. One of the biggest reasons I prefer these over other brands is the hole that runs through the center of the ball. This is a very important safety feature: if a dog were to accidentally get the ball stuck in the back of the throat, the hole allows air to pass through. That small detail could literally make a life-saving difference. Aside from the safety benefit, they bounce well, are easy to clean, and hold up to a lot of playtime. They’re firm but not rock-hard, and my dog goes crazy for them. Great value, great quality, and a thoughtful design. Highly recommended for dog owners who want a safer alternative to standard solid rubber balls.

Great ball for heavy chewers
Style: Assorted Balls (Pack of 3), Size: 2.5 inch
Great toy for my Doberman. She chews through tennis balls in about 15 minutes but these are very durable. She likes to chase them but also just chew on them.
