Regal Anthurium | Anthurium Regale – Regal, Elegant, Striking
With heart-shaped foliage veined in silver, the Anthurium Regale is a plant that makes its presence known. The leaves are also distinctly velvety, giving more than just texture - think character! House it in chic living rooms, modern offices, or calming bedroom retreats.
Plant Personality & Aesthetic Appeal
Anthurium Regale’s large, heart-shaped leaves boast a plush velvet texture and bold ivory-silver veins radiating from deep green centers. Each glossy leaf fans out from a stout central stem, forming an architectural rosette. It exudes tropical flair and elegance. As the name suggests, this plant is sought after for its regal appearance. Many plant owners will be able to spot this rare plant from a mile away.
Growth Habit & Size Potential
This regal plant can grow 60–90 cm tall and wide indoors! Its slow-to-moderate pace yields new leaves every 8–10 weeks during active seasons, also depending on how well it’s cared for. Mature plants could develop offsets, which you can use to propagate. You can start off young Regal Anthuriums in small pots, but bigger pots will allow them to expand. Consider rehoming this plant after a couple of years or so. While it doesn’t climb aggressively, you can train stems onto a moss pole for added vertical support.
Light & Location Needs
The Anthurium Regale thrives in bright, indirect light. It tolerates moderate light but will grow more slowly. Plus, the veins might lose their color if you don’t give them enough of that lovely light. The midday sun might be a bit too harsh for this plant. However, late-afternoon rays are much more ideal as they can provide the heat without the scorch. Perfect for well-lit living rooms, covered patios or sunny hallways, this plant also adapts to office environments with ambient daylight. Monthly pot rotation might be required for the plant to grow more symmetrically.
Care Level & Maintenance Tips
Water your Anthurium Regale when the top 2 cm of soil feels dry. Water once per week during warmer months and less when the weather gets cold. It requires a greener thumb as its preferred conditions may get a little technical. Are you ready? The ideal temperature to keep this plant would be around 13 to 27°C with 70 to 80% humidity. Plant in a porous, high-organic mix (orchid bark, perlite, peat) within a pot with drainage holes, and feed it during the spring and summer months.
Regaling You With the Benefits of the Regal Anthurium
The Anthurium Regale contributes to a healthier atmosphere by gently transpiring moisture and boosting ambient humidity. Its large leaves may also trap dust particles, greatly improving your indoor air quality. Caring for its velvet leaves and tracking new growth provide moments of mindfulness, making it ideal for home offices or meditation spaces. If you don’t have those, any workspace will benefit from the addition of this beauty. Every look and gander may offer you a brief respite, a moment of mental escape, if you will.

A Book That Made the Moon Extra Special
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
This book has quickly become a favorite in our home. Our daughter absolutely loves the playful idea of the moon looking like a banana, and how many bananas come together to make a full moon. Since reading it, she gets so excited pointing out both bananas and the moon, and it’s been amazing to see her make that connection. It’s her first choice every morning and every evening at story time. The concept is simple, imaginative, and perfectly suited for young children. It’s become a cherished part of our daily routine, and we highly recommend it.

The kids are in love!
Format: Board book
My daughters are obsessed with this beautiful story and love the song too which we found on apple music (with the same title as the book). This is now a bedtime ritual every night, we read the story, say good night and put the song on. Very beautifully written and made. Highly recommend!

Everyone Can Use A Little Assistance With Manners
Format: Hardcover
"Manners Can Be Fun" covers basics like introductions, please and thank you, being responsible in the home you live in and table manners. It's the illustrations, however, which get the point across and hit the reader over the head. No matter your age, the cute drawings really let one see what others experience when you behave badly.
The basics of what's important in life are put into perspective and appreciated all over again. Playing, saying "hello" and so many other topics pertinent to etiquette and consideration are placed on Mr. Leaf's pages in quick, precise prose which encourage action.
Munro Leaf's description of The Noisey's, The Pigs, Me First, Whineys, Smash, Rip, Ruin and others assist young and old of what to do around others and what not to do. It's basic, it's short and sweet, it's truly a classic. Like all classics, "Manners Can Be Fun" has not gone out of style. Many thanks to Universe Publishing for placing this wonderful book back on the shelves and into our hands.
